Gwangju Student Independence Movement Memorial Hall

It systematically preserves historical samples related to the Gwangju Student Independence Movement and based on the different cases it is displaying and reproducing historical facts. These are our efforts made for our history that is being slowly forgotten, and it is the basic course that can present a vision and direction for the future based on history.

In addition to the research on the historical significance and value of the Gwangju Student Independence Movement, its circumstances and cases at the time were organized according to the fact in order to correct our history that has been distorted. The truest organization and research of our history is a must in order to correct the history that has been distorted and damaged particularly by Japan and China.

Memorial Shrine
A memorial shrine is being operated to honor the spirit of those who were involved in the Gwangju Student Independence Movement that spread like wildfire through the oppression of the Japanese imperialists, and anyone can come pay their respects. It is a memorial shrine made in a solemn mood so that we can remember the noble spirit of our ancestors and so that we may think about what we as descendents need to do now.

The best way to understand history is to listen to those who have directly experienced the situation and to receive teachings on their spirit.
